Leadership Opportunity in Residential Childcare

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our Residential Childcare Team. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and support for our service users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trust and develop nurturing relationships with service users, promoting their independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities.
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our service users.
  • Lead shifts and conduct staff supervisions, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Support the Registered Manager with audits and other duties, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and other domestic duties.
  • Document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date, ensuring the highest standards of data protection and confidentiality.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to, promoting a safe and secure environment for our service users.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare.
  • Hold, or be willing to work towards, the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's services.
  • Have at least 1 year supervisory and shift leader experience in a Children's Residential setting.
  • Have knowledge and experience of working with OFSTED Regulations and Quality Standards of Children's homes, with the ability to support the manager to achieve a rating of outstanding.
  • Have knowledge and experience of recording and reporting to enable safeguarding and protection of children & young people.
