Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Kirklees Council. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support to students with additional needs, enabling them to access learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with additional needs, focusing on their social and emotional development as well as academic progress.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized learning plans, working closely with teachers and other support staff.
  • Participate in all aspects of school life, including lessons, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, understanding, and a solution-focused attitude, with a commitment to delivering high-quality support.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of students and the school.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
