Electrical Design Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our client's team in the industrial vehicles sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical cabling for automotive, industrial, or marine applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design electrical systems using AutoCAD, defining enclosure layouts and population
  • Specify test requirements and produce product risk assessments and paperwork to support certification
  • Work with a highly skilled engineering team to convert industrial materials handling equipment for hazardous areas
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure compliance with ATEX, Ex, and IEC Ex regulations
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of electrical cabling for automotive, industrial, or marine applications
  • Hands-on experience of electrical wiring and design of electrical systems
  • Ability to select components for integration and understand electrical/mechanical system integration
  • Creation of project documents, BOM generation, and project management skills
Desirable Skills:
  • Broad knowledge of electrical and electronic control systems, including AC inverters, industrial controllers, and PLCs
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated environment and fault finding complex electrical systems
