Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at A259 Recruitment. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for industrial vehicles and marine applications.

Your primary focus will be on designing solutions for alternative components, such as Ex-certified primary traction batteries, and integrating them into vehicles while considering extreme space constraints. You will also be responsible for specifying fuses, selecting cables, and understanding signal and power cables and their applications.

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will work closely with our team to create project specification documents, drawings in AutoCAD, and define electrical enclosure layouts. You will also specify product test requirements and produce product risk assessments and paperwork to support certification.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design electrical systems using AutoCAD and define enclosure layouts
  • Specify test requirements and produce product risk assessments
  • Integrate alternative components into vehicles
  • Specify fuses and select cables
  • Understand signal and power cables and their applications
  • Work closely with the team to create project specification documents and drawings
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of electrical cabling for automotive, industrial, or marine applications
  • Hands-on experience of electrical wiring
  • Design of electrical systems using AutoCAD
  • Specification of test requirements
  • Able to select components for integration
  • Understanding of electrical/mechanical system integration
  • Creation of project documents
  • BOM generation
