Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer Opportunity

Orion is partnering with an innovative manufacturing business in Northampton to recruit a self-sufficient, confident, and diligent Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to work as the Night Shift Maintenance Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform reactive maintenance on medium and heavy plant machinery, including conveyors, weaving machines, rollers, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, sensors, and relays.
  • Use PLCs for fault finding and work from electrical schematics to identify and resolve issues.
  • Implement solutions to reduce downtime and improve plant performance, working closely with the operations team.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to determine underlying reasons behind problems and failures, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Assist in setting up machines and provide a first-class engineering service.
Requirements:
  • Time served apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Electrical qualifications from a recognized body.
  • NVQ level 3 or BTEC L3 or equivalent.
  • Electrical fault-finding skills and experience with PLCs.
  • Machinery maintenance experience, including PPMs and reactive maintenance.
  • Ability to read and work from electrical schematics.
  • Continuous improvement projects and a commitment to excellence.
