Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Years Assistant to join our team at Bright Horizons. As an Early Years Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality early years education and care to our children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and plan engaging learning opportunities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of children.
- Conduct accurate and effective assessments to support the key person approach and ensure children's individual needs are met.
- Ensure a stimulating and inspiring environment is maintained, providing consistent and enabling activities for children in both indoor and outdoor areas.
- Embed values and principles through the Curriculum of Excellence/Pre Birth to Three.
- Safeguard and promote the health, safety, and welfare of children, adhering to our child protection and keeping everyone safe policies and procedures.
- Ensure internal policies and procedures are followed, meeting external legislation and guidelines from governing bodies.
- Promote and implement guidelines for managing behavior, supporting children to manage their feelings and behaviors.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to meet individual children's needs, maintaining a diverse and inclusive approach.
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication at all levels.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions for continuous professional development.
- Demonstrate the HEART principles in everyday working life.
- Contribute to the team's efforts to maintain high standards of hygiene and room preparation.
- Provide support to colleagues within the nursery and broader business.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience working within an Early Years setting.
- Experience working with children aged 0-5 years.
Essential Knowledge:
- Work experience within the Early Years sector.
Desirable Knowledge:
- Curriculum of Excellence/Pre Birth to Three.
- Building the Ambition and GIRFEC.
- Basic understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection.
- Basic understanding of wider legislative requirements for working with children.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and embrace new ways of doing things.
