Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maternity Advisor to join our team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individual and group support to pregnant women and new mothers, promoting healthy lifestyle choices and providing evidence-based health interventions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive assessments of referred or self-referred clients, and work with the client to plan and develop a programme which will meet the needs of the individual.
  • Deliver one-to-one support to clients based on their needs, including providing healthy pregnancy advice and smoking cessation support.
  • Assist clinical teams in recording and updating patient information, including smoking status and lifestyle choices.
  • Work in partnership with a wide range of individuals and organisations, including primary care, Public Health Practitioners and community smoking cessation services.
Requirements
  • Good understanding of the consequences of unhealthy lifestyle choices and the benefits of making positive changes.
  • Computer literate, with experience of using Microsoft Office Software.
  • Understanding and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work and communicate in group settings.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and listening skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability, and experience of writing reports and clinical notes.
