About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Safeguarding to join our team at Samaritans. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our safeguarding strategy, ensuring that our services and policies are aligned with best practice and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on safeguarding matters
  • Lead and manage a team of safeguarding professionals
  • Chair serious safeguarding incident panels
  • Represent Samaritans at external meetings and conferences

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in safeguarding, child protection, and/or protection of adults at risk
  • Up-to-date Designated Safeguarding Lead training and safeguarding training
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding legislation, best practice guidance, policy, and procedure
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
