The Fusion Technology Division at oilandgas is seeking an exceptional Graduate Experimental Nuclear Physicist to join our team in Culham and South Yorkshire sites. As a key member of the Applied Radiation Technology group, you will contribute to the successful delivery of services and R&D provided by the RADLab through deployment of nuclear diagnostics.

We are offering a competitive salary of £40,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including a pension scheme, corporate bonus scheme, and flexible working options. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about fusion technology and have a strong background in experimental nuclear physics.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing knowledge and understanding of fusion relevant topics and applying this learning to assigned projects;
  • Liaising with other teams and groups to build networks and ensure effective collaboration;
  • Promoting and supporting the broader Fusion Technology Division to ensure project success;
  • Engaging in active information sharing with staff and students, defining and overseeing Early Career projects;
  • Championing and sharing best practice to promote respect, inclusion, and opportunity across oilandgas.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrable ability to question existing scientific models and express this clearly through high-quality written reports;
  • IT literacy, including Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel and SharePoint);
  • Good planning, organising and time management skills;
  • A discreet and professional approach to technical or scientific activities;
  • The ability to manage your own development towards building knowledge and skills.
