Job Title: Legal Counsel

DOF is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our Global Legal, Tax and Insurance Function, you will provide legal and contractual support to our Tendering, Project execution, and Procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal and contractual support to Tendering activities, including review and negotiation of Terms and Conditions of Contract.
  • Liaise with Company's Insurers to ensure alignment between Contract provisions and existing global policies.
  • Support the Project execution activities, including providing guidance and support in the resolution of contractual and commercial disputes with Clients.
  • Ensure that contractual and legal documents are prepared in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide legal and contractual support to Procurement activities, including assessing the validity of Subcontractor VOR claims.
Requirements:
  • Relevant law degree
  • Significant relevant experience in a senior legal role in a major company, preferably within the international energy industry and/or from recognized law firms.
  • Strong legal knowledge and understanding of contract law
  • Strong negotiations skills combined with commercial understanding
  • Analytical and structured, with the ability to work independently and within short deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
Key Relationships:
  • Within the DOF Group: Global Legal, Tax and Insurance Function, Commercial, Projects and Procurement Departmental Heads
  • Outside the DOF Group: Clients, Sub-contractors, Company's Insurers
