We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join our team at Owen Mumford Ltd. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective health, safety, and environmental management systems to ensure compliance with current legislation and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and maintain compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Formulate, develop, and review policies, procedures, and other guidance necessary to ensure compliance.
- Develop and maintain all supporting documentation, operational checks, and reports for the health, safety, and environmental management systems to be compatible with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.
- Develop a reporting system to ensure the company is prepared for ISO 45001 certification and maintain this through active management of systems.
- Book, prepare, and lead all external third-party audits and ensure follow-up of interventions by enforcing authorities.
- Ensure the ownership of site HSE meetings is maintained by site leads and provide reports or information as required.
- Establish, maintain, and report on a system for the timely reporting and investigation of safety and environmental events (accidents, incidents, near misses, and non-conformities).
- Lead off RIDDOR reportable accident investigations and corrective actions.
- Advise the executive team and management on the setting of HS&E objectives.
- Establish management programs, monitor compliance, and report on progress to the executive team, management, and HSE meetings as required.
- Provide ongoing support and advice to managers, as requested, on all matters relating to health, safety, and environmental topics.
- NEBOSH Diploma
- Experience in health, safety, and environmental management systems and procedures
- Chartered membership of IOSH
- IEMA or equivalent
- Previous experience working in a safety environment
- Familiar with safe working practices
- Good understanding of corporate and social responsibilities
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
