We are seeking a skilled Optoelectronics Test Developer to join our Chip R&D team at Lumentum. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop semi-automated and fully automated test kits for characterization of advanced photonic integrated circuits and devices.

The Verification Test Kit Engineer will be contributing to the development of world-leading optical components for use in ultra-high data rate systems for cloud data centre, 5G mobile and coherent telecommunications optical fibre networks.

The Photonic Device Characterization Specialist will be responsible for designing test kits for optical and electrical experimental characterization of new and improved photonic devices and photonic integrated circuits.

The Automated Test System Designer will design and develop automated test procedures for experimental testing of photonic III-V semiconductor devices.

The Electronics Prototyping Engineer will be responsible for electronics prototyping to enable implementation of custom test routines used to verify device performance.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with other members of the verification team, chip design teams, as well as with members of the wider chip R&D community.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in electronics/electrical engineering or a related discipline, or significant experience working in test automation.

Specific experience of device/component testing for new product introduction, setting up test hardware/software, data acquisition is essential.

Experience of working in an optical lab, experience with 3D design software for mechanical design, and a track record of producing high quality prototype test fixtures are desirable.
