We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Lived Experience Advocate to join our team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Lived Experience Advocate, you will be responsible for advocating for the rights and interests of individuals with lived experience of the criminal justice system, substance misuse addiction, mental ill health, or other vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To provide advocacy and support to service users, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues, partnership agencies, and carers to ensure seamless support and effective communication.
  • To maintain accurate records and reports, highlighting individual progress and challenges.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1 year of demonstrable recovery from being in contact with the criminal justice system.
  • Required to demonstrate a recovery capital and period of desistance from misusing substances (including alcohol) for 1-3 years.
  • Empathy, patience, and sensitivity to be able to support people while maintaining clear boundaries.

The estimated salary for this position is £26,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible working hours, opportunities for professional development, and a supportive team environment.
