About the Role:

GSL Education - Southampton is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with challenging behaviour in a special educational needs and disabilities setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers and pupils in maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and reduce challenging behaviour
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement individualised behaviour plans
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students with challenging behaviour
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of behaviour policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
