Job Title: Advanced Theatre Practitioner

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours over 7 days, including weekends, evenings, and internal night rotation.

The role requires a highly motivated theatre practitioner with experience in general and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities include coordinating the skilled care of patients within their theatre specialty, demonstrating expertise in all aspects of patient care.

The ideal candidate will have considerable experience in anaesthetics and/or surgery and/or recovery, as well as experience of teaching and assessing.

The hospital has 21 operating theatres, including four satellite theatres covering multiple specialities.

The General theatre department comprises five theatres, one of which is a designated 24/7 emergency theatre, covering all specialities.

The Royal Berkshire Hospital is the largest centre for bariatric surgery within the Thames Valley.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • RN or ODP qualification
  • Mentorship or teaching and assessing qualification
  • Post-registration qualification/module in anaesthetics and/or surgery and/or recovery and/or HDU
Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Considerable experience in anaesthetics and/or surgery and/or recovery
  • Experience of teaching and assessing
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
