Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with DoLS assessments, completed appropriately, to a high standard and within set timescales. This involves working with the Hywel Dda Supervisory Body and Managing Authority to ensure that relevant paperwork and reports have been completed, and legislative requirements are met.

Main Responsibilities
  • Carry out assessments and reviews under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards 2007 (Amendment to Mental Capacity Act 2005) to establish if a person is being deprived of their liberty.
  • Determine whether deprivation of liberty is necessary in the person's best interests, required to prevent harm to themselves, and proportionate to the likelihood and seriousness of that harm.

Person Specification
  • Evidence of recent postgraduate diploma-level CPD/management development.
  • Accredited BIA qualification.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current MCA/MHA policy issues.
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and supporting Code of Practice.
  • Demonstrate excellent specialist knowledge of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and supporting Code of Practice.
  • Experience with multi-agency working and influencing change in a health environment.
