Job Title: Adult Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Consultant to join our team at North Thames Genomics Laboratory Hub. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert clinical and genetic advice to patients and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage outpatient genetic clinics and provide consultant advice to ward referrals, urgent prenatal referrals, MDT and MDCs.
  • Respond to the increasing needs of the Paediatric and Fetal Medicine Services within UHL and adjoining east midlands, as the Perinatal Centre for the Central Newborn Network.
  • Supervise and train Specialist Registrars/trainees/students/allied health professionals.
  • Contribute to research and transformational projects/innovation as part of GMSA.
Requirements:
  • Full GMC Registration.
  • Membership of Royal College of Physicians or Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health.
  • CCT accreditation.
Person Specification:
  • Competent in the management of adult and paediatric genetic disease.
  • Ability to motivate and develop both medical staff and non-medical staff.
  • Willingness to work as a member of the team and to share administrative responsibilities.
  • Experience in, and commitment to medical audit.
  • Understanding and interest in research.
  • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English that are adequate to enable effective communication with patients and colleagues.
