Residential Care Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated residential children's support worker to join our team in High Wycombe, London. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with complex needs.
About the Role:
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential childcare, with a minimum of 1-2 years' experience as a support worker.
- They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and external professionals.
- The successful candidate will be able to work within a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- They will be able to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for the children, staff, and the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with complex needs.
- Developing and implementing individual care plans, risk assessments, and key working sessions.
- Working effectively with external professionals and agencies to provide the best possible care for the children.
- Participating in debriefs with colleagues who work with challenging behaviors.
- Completing all daily tasks, including health and safety checks, to ensure a safe and secure environment for the children.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 1-2 years' experience as a support worker, preferably in a residential childcare setting.
- Diploma level 3 in residential childcare or equivalent qualification.
- An ability to work within a 24/7 operation and cover shift patterns as required.
- A valid DBS check (enhanced) and an ability to pass regular updates.
- Previous experience working with children and young people with EBD, LD, and complex needs/mental health.
- Experience in working within a 24/7 operation and covering shift patterns.
- Ability to participate in debriefs with colleagues who work with challenging behaviors.
- Strong teamworking skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Able to learn and adhere to Ofsted quality standards for children's homes and supported accommodation.
- Previous experience listening to, advocating for, and engaging with decision-making processes for young people.
- A full UK driving license is essential for this role.
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
