Financial Director

The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Finance to join their team on a permanent basis. As a key member of the senior management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial leadership and strategic direction to support the growth and development of the global finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement financial plans and budgets to support the organization's strategic objectives.
2. Lead the global finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective financial management and reporting.
3. Oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting, ensuring accurate and timely financial information is provided to stakeholders.
4. Collaborate with the CFO and other senior leaders to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
5. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws, and maintain effective internal controls and risk management practices.
6. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, donors, and partners.
7. Provide financial guidance and support to business units, ensuring effective financial management and decision-making.

Requirements:

1. Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent).
2. Proven experience in financial leadership and management, preferably in a non-profit or international organization.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
