Financial Director

The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Finance to join their team on a permanent basis. As a key member of the senior management team, the Head of Finance will play a critical role in supporting the growth of the global finance team and driving financial leadership across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organisation's growth and expansion plans.
2. Lead the global finance team, providing guidance and direction to ensure effective financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
3. Prepare and present financial reports to the Executive Committee and Board, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
4. Oversee global fiscal and tax compliance, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
5. Manage the recovery of funds from grant-funded projects, ensuring timely and efficient financial management.
6. Collaborate with the CFO to develop and implement financial systems and processes, ensuring continuous improvement and integration.
7. Represent the finance function at senior management team and executive committee meetings, providing financial expertise and guidance.

Requirements:

1. Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent).
2. Proven experience in non-profit finance, particularly with grants and project financial reporting.
3. International experience, ideally at HQ group level, demonstrating cultural and logistical awareness.
4. Experience in managing a finance team, with a track record of success.
5. Ability to travel internationally to other GWEC offices, as required.
