About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Junior DCO Development Project Manager to join our team at RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the development of large-scale, grid-connected solar and battery storage farms in the UK market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support DCO PMs in managing the planning application process, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Undertake and manage the consultation process with the Local Planning Authority and the local community, fostering strong relationships and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Scoping, budgeting, and appointing external consultants and legal teams to support and secure the DCO, ensuring the project stays on track.
  • Manage the grid connection process, working closely with the Grid Manager to ensure seamless integration.
  • Collaborate with the Design Team and Development Commercialisation team to optimise the project, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs, using appropriate verification techniques to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team from an early stage through to ready-to-build post-consent, including land referencing, legal teams, planning and environmental, compliance, and communication/stakeholder management.
  • Work through the pre-application phase with each sub-consultant/legal team to ensure the application remains on time and budget for a formal application.
  • Manage and orchestrate the response through the examination phase, stepping in to represent the project as needed.
  • Discharge planning conditions and handover to construction, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, ensuring all stakeholders have access to accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Perform other duties as required by the company, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements and Experience
  • Successful candidates should demonstrate experience supporting developers/project managers for DCO/TCPA projects, with a strong understanding of the UK market.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in utility-scale solar farm development and infrastructure projects, or related discipline.
  • Proven track record in project delivery and managing multiple stakeholders, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage work projects, deadlines, and task-related resources, with a focus on delivering results.
  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn, with a strong desire to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Project Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Initiative, a 'can-do' attitude, and a high desire to succeed, with a strong work ethic.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Ideal Master's Degree and/or Professional Membership in a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to create models in Excel to assist with designs/assessment.
