About the Role
Talan is seeking a highly skilled Senior Obsolescence Project Manager to lead and manage obsolescence projects within our organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of projects aimed at addressing hardware, software, and system obsolescence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage obsolescence projects from initiation to closure, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies to ensure continuity and compliance.
- Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, procurement, and other business units to ensure effective upgrades, replacements, and decommissions.
- Liaise with senior management and key stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring they meet agreed SLAs and deliverables.
- Ensure all obsolescence management efforts comply with regulatory requirements, including data protection, cybersecurity, and operational risk guidelines.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience in project management within the financial services industry, ideally within an investment bank.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software lifecycles, and obsolescence challenges in the banking sector.
- Proven track record of managing complex, large-scale IT projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to IT systems, including cybersecurity and data protection laws.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive collaboration across various teams and levels of the organization.
- Ability to identify risks and implement solutions proactively.
- Experience managing budgets and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Strong experience working with third-party vendors, including contract negotiation and SLA management.
