A supportive SEN Learning Mentor is required for a dynamic secondary school in Basildon. This full-time position involves working closely with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored learning strategies for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing individualized support and fostering a positive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
  • Working collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement personalized learning plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Offering encouragement, motivation, and guidance to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their academic goals.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting progress to parents and other relevant stakeholders as necessary.
  • Prioritizing tasks, managing multiple deadlines, and adapting to changing circumstances while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Collaborating with external agencies and professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting students' development and wellbeing.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent interpersonal skills, a strong background in education or a related field, and experience working with students with SEN. A current and clear Enhanced DBS check is also essential.
