Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Drainage Engineer to join our team at WSP, a leading engineering professional services consulting firm. As a Drainage Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of civil engineering projects, including highway, rail, infrastructure, and site development schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Delivery of projects from concept through to completion, ensuring they are delivered to a high technical standard, in a timely manner, and with commercial success.
  2. Management of a team of drainage engineers, supporting their technical development and ensuring they are resourced on projects.
  3. Delivery of a broad range of drainage services for significant transport and infrastructure projects in the UK.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our national sustainable water management team, which is a technical leader in the sector. We foster a proactive, responsible, and collaborative work ethic, and our clients range from HS2, Network Rail, National Highways, and Local Authorities.

Requirements:

  1. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer and/or degree qualified (role dependant).
  2. Extensive and proven experience post degree in designing sustainable drainage solutions.
  3. Knowledge and understanding of drainage design principles and solutions to manage infrastructure drainage.
  4. Experience in the use of Civil 3D and/or Causeway Flow software/MicroDrainage.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication.
  6. Proven knowledge of relevant technical standards, UK Building Regulations, Design Standards, Codes of Practice, and Health & Safety regulations.
  7. Successful management of projects/programmes and teams to meet both quality and commercial targets.
