Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated individual to assist a 29-year-old male client with Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, Learning Difficulties, and Severe Visual Impairment. This role involves joining a well-established team to provide comprehensive 24-hour support.

Your responsibilities will include delivering care within the client's home and facilitating community engagement through various activities to enhance his quality of life.

Comprehensive training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist with hydrotherapy sessions.
  • Facilitate music therapy activities.
  • Support community outings.
  • Perform all personal care tasks.
  • Administer regular and emergency medications.
  • Organize social and sensory activities.
  • Conduct minor domestic tasks, including laundry management and maintaining cleanliness in living areas.
  • Provide manual handling support.
  • Assist with tube feeding and, if necessary, administer oxygen therapy and suction.
  • Cover for colleagues during sickness and holidays.

Essential Personal Attributes:

  • Uphold confidentiality and privacy standards.
  • Demonstrate responsibility, reliability, and trustworthiness.
  • Respect the dignity and independence of the client.
  • Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be punctual and adaptable.
  • Previous experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A good sense of humor is essential.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required.
  • Experience in physiotherapy and sensory stimulation is advantageous.
  • A clean driving license is preferred.
The role is subject to a DBS check and successful completion of initial training, along with a probationary period.

Available Positions:

Position 1:

Weekday shifts: Early/Late (7:30 – 16:00 and 10:30 – 20:00) with one weekend per month. These can be part-time or full-time and may include night shifts on a rotating 4-week schedule.


Position 2:
Weekend hours: 2-4 weekends per month (available on both days)

Position 3:
Weekday night shifts: Thursday to Saturday from 19:30 to 7:30 (these shifts can be split)

Compensation:
£11.44 per hour, increasing to £12.25 per hour for caregivers with two years of experience (under review). Enhanced rates for unsocial hours.

Holiday Benefits:

You will receive 28 days of paid holiday (including bank holidays), pro rata based on the number of shifts worked.
