Youth Justice Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Pastoral & Learning Support Assistant / Aspiring Youth Justice Worker.
The successful candidate will work in a small, specialist school near Guildford, supporting students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
As an Aspiring Youth Justice Worker, you will have the opportunity to gain essential restorative experience in an anti-social and challenging setting.
This role is perfect for those looking to pursue a career in prison, rehabilitation, probation, or youth justice services.
You will work alongside teachers and specialist staff to support students with SEMH challenges and traumas.
Some students may have suffered adverse childhood experiences, and you will identify their risks and needs, escalating where necessary.
You will be instrumental in providing consistency and equipping students with tools to ensure they feel safe, secure, empowered, and believe that they can succeed in life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEMH needs

- Provide consistency and support to students
Requirements:
- Passionate about helping children and young people achieve their full potential
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Able to build confidence and motivation
- Approachable and able to build robust and effective relationships with students
- Able to remain calm and resilient when placed in situations of stress or conflict
- High levels of empathy, caring, compassionate, and a good listener
- Motivated and enthusiastic, with a professional approach to work
What We Offer:
- Excellent on-site training, support and CPD to ensure safeguarding of all students
- Competitive daily rate of £80-£90
- Term time only, Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 15:30
