About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our Forensic Community Mental Health Team in Coventry and Warwickshire.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will provide emotional and practical support to individuals who are experiencing mental health conditions and are at risk of offending. You will work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to assess each individual's needs and develop support and risk management plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one peer-led support to individuals who are experiencing mental health conditions and are at risk of offending.
- Assess each individual's needs and develop support and risk management plans.
- Liaise closely with other St Giles teams to avoid duplication and ensure seamless support.
- Support individuals to access and engage with suitable support agencies.
- Develop strong relationships with statutory agencies.
Requirements
- Relevant direct or indirect personal experience of the criminal justice system.
- Experience of working and engaging positively with people who have a history of substance use, mental health, offending, or other vulnerable groups.
- Relevant qualification to a good standard or working towards one.
- Excellent IT, prioritisation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- A flexible, collaborative, and professional approach to work.
