Job Title:
Applications Design and Development Engineer

Job Summary:
Theo James Recruitment is proud to represent a prestigious precision engineering/manufacturing client, renowned for their innovative solutions and commitment to excellence in the industry. We are seeking an experienced Applications Design and Development Engineer to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop innovative solutions to meet customer requirements, utilizing 3D CAD design software and expertise in machined components, sheet-metal, extrusion, and/or cast components.
  • Act as the principal point of contact for customers' engineers, providing technical support and guidance.
  • Generate thermal management solutions based on customer requirements, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Manage individual projects, including creating engineering designs, raising PO requests, and overseeing prototype build and test.
  • Collaborate with Production/Manufacturing Engineering to ensure a smooth transition into manufacturing, adhering to customer requirements.
  • Support the Sales Department function, providing technical expertise and guidance.
  • Maintain and archive customer-related information, adhering to departmental procedures.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety requirements, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Achieve 5S housekeeping targets in areas of control, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Provide technical support to the Engineering function when other engineers are unavailable.

Requirements:

  • HND in Mechanical Engineering or a similar level of experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is desirable but not essential if the candidate has the necessary experience.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD design software, preferably SolidWorks.
* 6 to 10 years of engineering experience in a design, development, and manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with SolidWorks (or similar CAD software) to generate models and drawings.
