Nurse Practitioner for Complex Needs

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Child and Adolescent Learning Disability Service (CALDS) for a skilled Learning Disability Nurse to join our team and support children and young people with learning disabilities.

CALDS is a specialist multi-disciplinary service consisting of Learning Disability Nurses, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, and Psychiatry. Our team provides a range of services for children and adolescents with learning disabilities, from assessment and intervention to consultation, liaison, and training for other agencies.

Referrals are accepted for children and adolescents with moderate to severe learning disabilities in conjunction with complex emotional/behavioural/mental health issues.

Main duties and responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of children and adolescents with complex needs
  • Undertake clinical assessments for children and adolescents
  • Develop person-centred care plans based on clinical assessment of need
  • Work as part of the CALDS and wider multi-disciplinary team to provide intervention programmes

The successful candidate will be responsible for working collaboratively with other professionals to meet the needs of children and young people with high levels of complex needs. This is a fixed-term position for 10 months.
