We are seeking an experienced or senior Band 5 nurse to join our Specialist Care Team at Noah's Ark Children's Hospice. As a paediatric nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children who are seriously unwell, making the most of every day.
Key Responsibilities- Care for children who are staying with us at The Ark and those visiting us for day care
- Support children in their family homes and in community-settings
- Work collaboratively with our Specialist Care Team to provide holistic care to children and their families
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each child
- Provide emotional and practical support to families, empowering them to make informed decisions about their child's care
- Registered Sick Children's Nurse or Registered Nurse Child Branch
- Relevant post-qualification experience at staff nurse band 5 level
- Teaching qualification (e.g. ENB 998)
- Previous team nursing/management experience or experience of supporting students, junior staff nurses or support workers
- Experience in leading a multiskilled workforce or team or evidence of leadership of a multiskilled workforce/team with support from lead nurse
- At least 2 years post registration experience, including a minimum of one year's experience of nursing children with life limiting, life threatening or complex medical needs
- Demonstration of palliative care experience/nursing children with life threatening and life limiting conditions, including children with special needs
- Previous experience working with children with tracheotomies and/or requiring long term ventilation
- Experience with intravenous line care and therapies including parenteral nutrition
