Detail Designer (Outfit Engineer) Job Description

Our client, a leading company in the marine industry, is seeking a skilled Detail Designer (Outfit Engineer) to join their dynamic team. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong background in systems design, systems engineering, and outfit within the context of marine environments such as ships, yachts, and sailing boats.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop intricate system designs for various marine vessels, focusing on outfit engineering.
  • Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and functional designs.
  • Draft detailed design documents and technical specifications.
  • Contribute to the conceptual design stages and refine concepts into detailed plans.
  • Provide practical and efficient design solutions based on shipyard and on-board experiences.
  • Work with yacht captains and other marine professionals to gather input and feedback on design practicality and functionality.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Participate in project meetings and reviews, providing technical expertise.
Job Requirements:
  • Experience in systems design and systems engineering within the marine sector.
  • Proven background in outfit design for ships, yachts, and other marine vessels.
  • Strong drafting skills, with the ability to create clear and detailed design documents.
  • Hands-on experience in shipyards or onboard experiences on yachts, merchant navy vessels, or similar.
  • Ability to contribute to both conceptual and detailed design phases.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements for marine design.
  • Practical experience and problem-solving abilities related to marine outfit engineering.
