Job Overview

The NHS is seeking an experienced Community Nurse Specialist to lead the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to children and families in North Hertfordshire. This permanent, full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a positive impact on the lives of young people.

About the Role

  • Lead and supervise a team of public health nurses to deliver targeted care to children and young people in schools, communities, and homes.
  • Work closely with SCPHNs, Team Leaders, and Clinical Leads to improve service quality and develop leadership skills.
  • Develop and implement local public health plans with schools and the wider community.
  • Use electronic health needs assessments to identify individuals requiring early intervention pathways.
  • Deliver the Healthy Child Programme using innovative approaches such as Chat health text messaging and social media engagement.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
  • Cover duty, assess, triage, plan, and implement healthcare as needed, following Trust guidelines and policies.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse/Midwifery qualification with experience in community nursing.
  • Degree-level knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including record keeping and report writing.
  • Full, valid UK driving license and access to a car for business use (or alternative arrangements).
  • Enhanced DBS certificate.
