Science Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Science Laboratory Technician to join our team at GSL Education. As a key member of our Science Department, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning by ensuring the preparation of materials, resources, and equipment for science lessons.
Key Responsibilities:- Lesson Preparation: Conduct risk assessments, set up apparatus and equipment, and ensure timely availability of resources.
- Supporting Teachers: Assist with equipment trials, provide safety advice, and communicate with other technicians to resolve equipment clashes.
- Maintenance and Upkeep: Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of laboratories and preparation rooms, clean and maintain equipment, and conduct safety checks.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in English and Mathematics
- Competent in using Microsoft Office Applications
- NVQ Laboratory Technician or equivalent SLC qualification
- Previous experience in a similar setting, such as a preparation room
Please note that previous experience as a science technician is not essential, but familiarity with working in a preparation room or similar environment would be advantageous.
Estimated Salary: £20,000 - £25,000 per annum, depending on experience.
