Job Summary:

Meritus is seeking a highly skilled Test Rig Controls & Data Acquisition Engineer to join our team in a 12-month contract position. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering technical expertise in industrial control systems and test data acquisition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical specialisms in industrial control systems (MOOG Aerospace test software, MTS Aeropro preferable) and/or test data acquisition (HBK, Catman preferable); a healthy mix of hands-on lab and office-based work
  • Understand and apply knowledge of hydraulics - specifically servo-hydraulic control
  • Assist in delivering structural tests as required
  • Communicate and report progress to the test leader/test customers
  • Coordinate all internal and external contributors/stakeholders/suppliers
  • Anticipate, identify, and manage risks & opportunities
  • Participate in the test centre SQCDP and weekly team meetings
  • Support the development of training methodology and material
  • Risk assessment, Safe Systems of Work & Health / Safety Compliance

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Educated (or equivalent proven experience) in control systems engineering or a related discipline (e.g. Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, Mechanical, Physics)
  • +5 years of experience in:
    • Delivery of projects to time, cost, quality
    • One of the following disciplines: Instrumentation, control systems, data acquisition, hydraulic control
  • Pioneering spirit, open to new ideas/innovation
  • Good communication skills, multifunctional work, and customer-focused
  • Team worker
  • Proven ability to deliver
  • MS Office and G Suite
  • English: Negotiation level

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in structures, materials, or systems testing would be an advantage
  • Experience in managing suppliers or participating in supplier selection would be an advantage
