About Us

Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Practitioner to support the day-to-day running of our setting. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and supervising children in the setting
  • Supporting colleagues and working as part of a team to provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for all children (aged 0-5 years)
  • Planning and implementing engaging activities that promote learning, development, and independence
  • Cleaning and following procedures required to maintain a healthy environment
  • Communicating effectively and professionally with parent handovers and colleagues
  • Completing and keeping up-to-date key children developmental records
  • Completing and keeping up-to-date daily online care diary on Tapestry
  • Working as part of a team to ensure that Ofsted standards are followed at all times
  • Assisting in the continuous improvement in childcare practices
  • Complying with Health and Safety at Work legislation
  • Attending ongoing training (in-house and courses) to support CPD
Requirements

We require the successful candidate to have:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years previous experience of working in a nursery setting
  • Experience of working with the EYFS
  • IT proficiency for writing reports/updating online journals
  • An in-depth understanding of children's development and their emotional, physical, and intellectual needs
  • Physical fitness to lift and handle children and equipment
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional conduct

Qualifications

We require the successful candidate to hold:

  • Level 3 qualified in childcare
  • Experience of being a room leader is desirable
  • Leadership skills to guide and support children effectively
  • Proficiency in English to communicate with parents and staff
  • Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting essential
  • Ability to manage and engage with children of various ages
  • Qualifications in Early Childhood Education would be advantageous
Pay and Schedule

We offer a competitive salary of £20,000 - £30,000 and a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm.

GCSE or equivalent is required, and a driving license is preferred. Paediatric First Aid Certification and DBS are also preferred.
