About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Part-time Clinical Forensic Psychologist to join our Integrated Mental Healthcare team at a category C training prison in the UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for offering clinical support and oversight to the IMHT, undertaking psychological assessments, delivering 1:1 psychological interventions and group interventions as part of the Trauma Informed 'Making Sense' Programme, and contributing to the development of audit, service evaluation, and research profile.

As a qualified HCPC registered Psychologist, you will have proven experience in Clinical/Forensic or Counselling Psychology, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a challenging yet rewarding environment, making a real difference in the lives of patients. We offer a competitive salary of up to £61,190 per annum FTE, depending on experience, along with a range of benefits including bespoke induction, learning management system access, support from the wider Psychological Therapies team, and post-doctoral training opportunities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Offer clinical support and oversight to the IMHT in the form of training, supervision, and reflective practice
  • Undertake psychological assessments and support complex multi-disciplinary formulations
  • Deliver and oversee the delivery of 1:1 psychological interventions and group intervention as part of the Trauma Informed 'Making Sense' Programme
  • Deliver teaching and training to healthcare and prison staff where required
  • Contribute to the development of audit, service evaluation, and research profile as appropriate

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Full HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist
  • Proven experience in Clinical/Forensic or Counselling Psychology
  • Experience working with Forensic Mental Health patients
  • Experience working with psychological trauma
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player
