Job Description

Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Job Summary:

GSL Education is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support the learning and development of children in primary schools. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping teachers to deliver high-quality education and ensuring that students receive the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with groups of children aged between 1 and 11 (Nursery, Early Years to Year 6) to support their learning and development.
  • Follow instructions and guidance provided by the class teacher to ensure that students receive the support they need.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children both in and out of the classroom.
  • Supervise children during playtime and lunchtime to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Prepare classroom materials, including cutting, sticking, photocopying, and laminating, to support teaching and learning.
  • Observe and provide feedback to the class teacher regarding children's learning and development.
  • Effectively manage off-task behaviors and promote positive behavior management techniques.

Requirements:

  • Hold Teaching Assistant Level 1, 2, or 3 qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Be an excellent and inspirational class practitioner with a passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Have high expectations for pupils' achievement and behavior.
  • Possess excellent communication and behavior management skills.
  • Previous experience working with children or adults in a caring capacity.
  • Demonstrate transferrable skills such as teamwork, initiative, flexibility, adaptability, remaining calm under pressure, caring, and helpfulness.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
