Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior/Category Buyer to join our team at ASC Connections Ltd. As a Senior/Category Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing high-quality parts and components for our automotive/motorsport manufacturer client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for a particular category and selection of suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality parts and components.
- Support the company's growth by enabling profit through effective sourcing.
- Reduce supplier lead time while maintaining high standards.
- Deliver a strategy for your category to ensure production and new model manufacturing can be fulfilled.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities within your specific category.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Category Buyer, Senior Buyer, or Project Buyer within a manufacturing business, ideally within the automotive/motorsport industry.
- Experience in New Product Introduction.
- Proven negotiation skills and in-depth understanding of commercial terms.
- Familiarity with Far East sourcing.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Purchased a range of materials, components, and parts.
- Worked with MRP/ERP systems.
