Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Director to lead our childcare program at Imagination Childcare Academy, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting short- and long-term goals for our teaching staff, managing the work schedules, and supervising and leading our teaching and administrative staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement educational programs that meet the needs of our children and align with our company standards.
- Conduct interviews and reviews to ensure that new staff members are qualified and meet our company's standards.
- Manage the ordering and purchasing of educational materials, toys, and supplies.
- Organize field trips, special events, and holidays, and ensure that they are safe and enjoyable for our children.
- Meet with teachers and parents to keep them informed about their child's progress and development.
- Work with our teaching staff to address any behavioral or learning problems.
- Ensure that our facility and staff comply with all state and local regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience working with children in a teaching position or administering childcare.
- Must have all CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Knowledgeable about the latest trends and techniques in education and child-rearing.
- Familiarity with theories and practices of behavioral therapy, child development, and parent-child relationships.
Working Conditions:
The Academic Director will spend most of their time in the daycare facility, divided between desk work and supervision of staff. They must be able to take on classroom duties and be willing to spend long hours standing, walking, kneeling, and lifting no more than 30 pounds. Some nights and weekends may be required.
