Bowel Cancer Screening Specialist

Job Description:
">The Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust is seeking a skilled individual to fill the role of Bowel Cancer Screening Specialist. This position involves working with a team of dedicated professionals in the West Kent & Medway Bowel Cancer Screening Service.
">Main Responsibilities:
">- Participate in the National Bowel Cancer Screening Specialist Screening Practitioner Training Course within the first year in post.
- Attend colonoscopy sessions, record patients' pathways, and collect data.
- Establish effective links with local colorectal cancer multidisciplinary teams for timely patient presentation and transfer.
- Provide advice, information, and support to those making direct contact with the screening centre.
- Apply knowledge and enhanced communication skills when breaking bad news and providing psychological support.
- Maintain accurate patient records and participate in audits.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
">- Educated to diploma level and registered as a healthcare professional.
- Aware of national screening and cancer agendas, clinical governance, risk management, valid consent, and withdrawal of consent.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage a caseload or care group in a clinical setting, and participate in quality assurance and audit.
Estimated Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
