Job Summary:

Kirklees Council is seeking a skilled Technical Services Officer (Structural) to join its team and support the delivery of capital projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in building design and construction, with experience in managing multi-discipline design teams and preparing building contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and manage the performance of capital projects, including new build, refurbishment, and remodelling schemes.
  2. Act as the Council's Technical Authority, developing and implementing technical specifications, strategies, and standards to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of the Council's ambitious construction projects. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of building design and construction principles, with experience in managing technical services and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Requirements:

  1. A relevant professional or academic qualification, or extensive experience in building design and construction.
  2. Strong IT skills, with experience using a variety of packages such as Microsoft Office, AutoDesk, NBS, and Tekla Tedds design packages.
