Job Purpose:
The Radiography Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Radiography Support Team and coordination of radiography resources. This involves identifying radiography requirements within the contractor's workscope, justifying and agreeing NDT techniques, and requesting radiography through the Radiography Coordinator. The Coordinator will ensure adequate planning, preparation, and risk management for safe, timely, and quality work execution. They will oversee radiography performance, avoiding potential clashes and optimizing strategies for safe and quality delivery. The Coordinator will also run coordination meetings, interface with other construction meetings, and proactively manage risks and issues. They will champion learning and the Mactech Energy Group way, working ad-hoc shifts to monitor work execution and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver radiography coordination via interfaces between radiography service providers and installation contractors.
• Drive current and future performance, ensuring an open learning environment for continuous improvement and delivery to safety, quality, time, and cost constraints.
• Manage the storage of radiographic film after interpretation or until delivered to storage as lifetime quality records.
• Develop Mactech Energy Group's strategy related to the digitisation of radiographs for key components.
• Champion non-radiological testing technologies to ensure ALARP in meeting nuclear safety requirements.
• Liaise with the Radiography Subject Matter Expert to ensure ALARP justifications have been produced by contractors and approved prior to specific work starting.
• Monitor the safety of work activities and ensure work is delivered as planned, providing key input into Radiographers barrier plans.
• Apply KPIs to monitor radiography performance issues, trends, and risks.
Requirements:
• PCN or equivalent ISO 9712/ASME level 2 radiographer, current preferred but lapsed qualifications accepted.
• Previously trained and appointed as Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) minimum.
• Experience working on large construction/refit projects with significant levels of radiography.
• Good knowledge of other non-destructive testing techniques/standards, additional qualifications such as ultrasonics and/or surface inspection are an advantage.
• Knowledge and experience from working in the nuclear sector.
• Good knowledge of the IRR2017.
• Experience of working closely, supporting a team to achieve excellent delivery.
Working Environment:
The Radiography Coordinator will operate in a dynamic construction environment, working closely with the NNB Health and Safety team and subject matter experts to ensure technical compliance of radiography. They will champion learning and the Mactech Energy Group way, working ad-hoc shifts to monitor work execution and standards.
