About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled Systems Engineering Mathematician to join our team in Cowes, Isle of Wight. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of complex radar systems and make a real difference in our customer community.

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing mathematical models and simulations to support the design and development of deployable radar systems. You will work closely with multi-disciplined engineering teams to realise, implement, verify and validate algorithmic and design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop mathematical models and simulations to identify performance enhancements and novel solutions for existing radar products and future technologies.
  • Support the development of system performance analysis and design trade-offs of principle system parameters.
  • Apply knowledge of Systems Engineering (e.g. ISO 15288) to design and develop solutions and resolve engineering issues and problems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that developed solutions meet system capability and performance requirements.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • A strong mathematical and engineering background with a focus on systems engineering.
  • Experience of mathematical simulation tools/languages (e.g. Mathworks MATLAB, Simulink, Pearl, Python, MathCAD).
  • An understanding of factors that can affect the real world performance of radar systems and how these can impact modelled or simulated performance prediction.
  • Further education (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM discipline.

Salary: Circa £55,000 dependent on experience.
