Job Title: Visual Arts Project Coordinator

Location: London, United Kingdom

We are seeking an experienced Visual Arts Project Coordinator to join our team at Somerset House Trust. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development and delivery of exhibitions, commissions, and installations.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience working on multi-disciplinary exhibitions and commissions, including overseeing the construction of exhibition environments, working with museum collections and loans, and collaborating with artists and creative practitioners.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are delivered to a high standard within tight deadlines. This will involve managing budgets, scheduling, and resources, as well as working closely with internal stakeholders, designers, contractors, and external consultants.

You will also be expected to contribute to the planning and implementation of new exhibitions and projects, including advising on technical feasibility, developing production schedules and costings, and managing the tendering process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the development and delivery of exhibitions, commissions, and installations
  • Oversee the construction of exhibition environments and collaborate with designers, contractors, and external consultants
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered to a high standard within tight deadlines
  • Manage budgets, scheduling, and resources
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of new exhibitions and projects
Requirements:
  • Substantial experience working on multi-disciplinary exhibitions and commissions
  • Ability to manage budgets, scheduling, and resources
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Knowledge of exhibition design software (CAD drawing/Sketchup or other equivalent)
  • Experience of managing tenders and production budgets
  • Forklift/PASMA/IPAF certifications desirable
About the Salary:

The salary for this position is approximately £36,000 per annum, depending on experience.
