Job Description

The role of a Clinical Specialist Practitioner at North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is to provide expert clinical practice to clients who pose significant challenges or risk to themselves or others. This includes mental health issues, complex communication needs, profound and multiple disabilities, long-term conditions, and forensic behavior.

The successful applicant will work alongside the established Community Learning Disability Team to develop, initiate, lead, and manage clinical assessment, formulation, and interventions, staff training, and special projects consistent with the aims of the Trust, service plan, and service operational policy.

This post is subject to an enhanced check with adults barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check.

Main Duties
  • Provide expert clinical practice to clients with complex challenging behavior and/or forensic behaviors
  • Take the lead role in facilitating/coordinating access to primary and secondary health care services for people with learning disabilities
  • Develop/influence and implement changes at both local and trust-wide levels
  • Provide clinical specialist practice in relation to service users with complex needs who may display forensic/risk behaviors
