We are seeking an experienced Acute Speech Therapist to join our team at St Bartholomew's Hospital in London.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality speech and language therapy to adult patients in an acute hospital setting, particularly focusing on communication and swallowing disorders.

About the Role:

This full-time role is available for an immediate start and is initially for 3 months, with the potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with a range of conditions, including neurological disorders, stroke, head and neck cancer, and respiratory conditions
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering patient-centered care and contributing to treatment plans
  • Manage a caseload of both inpatients and outpatients, conducting comprehensive assessments, and providing tailored interventions, including dysphagia management and communication strategies
  • Offer education and advice to patients, carers, and staff to ensure safe and effective swallowing management and communication support

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist
  • Significant experience in adult acute speech and language therapy, particularly in managing swallowing and communication disorders
