Job Overview

The Commercial Services Group is seeking an experienced Procurement Strategist to lead our procurement function and drive commercial value across our supply chains.

This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic organisation and make a significant impact on our business. As Head of Procurement, you will develop and implement a procurement strategy that aligns with our social value and sustainability goals, while delivering best value commercially.

You will be responsible for leading a high-performing team, building strong partnerships with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies.

About the Role

  • Lead the development and implementation of a procurement strategy that delivers commercial value and aligns with our social value and sustainability goals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and colleagues
  • Manage a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and internal policies, including the Public Contract Regulations and the Procurement Act
  • Implement innovative procurement methodologies, including e-tendering solutions
  • Chair the Procurement Forum and mentor procurement talent across the organisation

Requirements

  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) or equivalent experience
  • Excellent technical knowledge of procurement regulations, including the Public Contract Regulations and the Procurement Act
  • Ability to negotiate at the highest levels to secure best value
  • Private and public sector experience

Salary: £60,000 per annum
