Job Description

**Warehouse Team Leader**

At Great Bear, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • **Manage and Motivate the Shift Team**: Lead and motivate a team of warehouse staff to achieve productivity and service KPIs.
  • **Goods Inwards and Loading Bays**: Manage the Goods Inwards area and Loading bays to ensure quick and damage-free receipts, making stock available to satisfy orders.
  • **Team Development and Training**: Develop and train team members to maximize their contributions to the warehouse and create a succession plan.
  • **Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures**: Carry out disciplinary and grievance interviews and investigations in line with Company procedure.
  • **Support to Shift Manager**: Provide support to the Shift Manager in ad hoc duties within the Warehouse function.
  • **Cross Docking Process**: Oversee the cross docking process to ensure efficient and effective movement of goods.
  • **Workplace Maintenance**: Ensure the workplace is clean and tidy at all times.
  • **Daily Shift Briefs**: Conduct daily shift briefs to keep teams informed and up-to-date with relevant information.
  • **Health, Safety, and Welfare**: Ensure all areas of the warehouse comply with the company's Health, Safety, and Welfare policies.
  • **Work Environment Optimization**: Monitor and control the work environment to ensure it operates at its optimum efficiency.
  • **Shift Performance**: Ensure shift performance is in line with workload and Key Performance Indicators.
  • **Resource Utilization**: Ensure available resources are utilized to their full potential at all times.

**Requirements:**

  • **Attention to Detail**: Demonstrate a high level of detail and accuracy in work.
  • **Time Management**: Manage own time to achieve daily targets efficiently and effectively.
  • **Teamwork and Initiative**: Work as a team player who can also work on own initiative.
  • **Communication Skills**: Possess excellent communication skills.
  • **Pressure and Deadlines**: Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • **Investigative and Problem-Solving Skills**: Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills.
  • **Flexibility**: Demonstrate flexibility in approach to work and shift patterns.
  • **Computer Literacy**: PC literate in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • **Physical Demands**: Ability to work at height and previous FLT/MHE experience required.
  • **Desirable Skills**: VNA experience desired but not necessary, and exposure to WMS would be an advantage.
