Ecological Consultant

As a Consultant Ecologist, you will be responsible for leading ecological surveys, preparing comprehensive reports, and collaborating with our landscape planning and arboriculture teams to deliver integrated project solutions.

• Conduct a variety of ecological surveys, including protected species surveys and habitat assessments.
• Prepare comprehensive ecological reports, such as Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments.
• Collaborate with our landscape planning and arboriculture teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
• Support the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and planning applications.
• Liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in ecological consultancy or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policies.
• Proven experience in conducting and leading a variety of ecological surveys.
• Working knowledge of UKHab survey techniques and Statutory BNG.
• Desired experience using GIS to produce highly accurate digital outputs (QGIS).
• Excellent report-writing skills with attention to detail.
• Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or working towards it.
• A full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites.
