Consultant Ecologist

GreenJobs Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Ecologist to join our team. As an Ecological Consultant, you will be responsible for leading exciting projects and conducting a variety of ecological surveys, including protected species surveys and habitat assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting ecological surveys and assessments to inform project decisions
  • Preparing comprehensive ecological reports, including Ecological Impact Assessments and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments
  • Collaborating with landscape planning and arboriculture teams to deliver integrated project solutions
  • Liaising with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
Requirements:
  • Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in ecological consultancy or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policies
  • Proven experience in conducting and leading ecological surveys
  • Working knowledge of UKHab survey techniques and Statutory BNG
  • Desired experience using GIS to produce highly accurate digital outputs
  • Excellent report-writing skills with attention to detail
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management or working towards it
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites
